GAIGYSYZ

STUD RECORD

Very many thanks to Petra Maresová for collating and translating the following material:

1150 Gaigysyz, dark buckskin, was born 28.1.1988 in studfarm Komsomol, Turkmenistan. He raced in Ashkhabad as a 2 years old (one race, without place, time - 1000 m: 1.14,4).

His name he got by the first chief of Turkmen republic during Soviet Era, Gaigysyz Atabaev.

To his pedigree - his great-grandfather 742 Kermek 7 came to Turkmenistan from Kazakhstan, in 1965 born by him the colt 882 Kalkan. Then for a long long time nothing happend. Then in 1971 born colt Kermek 2nd, very small (150 cm in withers), but with a lot of type and correct conformation. He raced to his 5 years, from 22 starts he won 7 times. Ryabova recommended him for breeding, but no Turkmen farm was interested, due to his height. Finally bought him Ashkhabad Hippodrom, but he got only two mares, Fialka and Pakhta. Out of Fialka then born Karaman, out of Pakhta excellent mare Peiker.

Unfortunately Kermek 2nd in 1979 tragically died (after the 20 km journey from one kolkhoz to Ashkhabad hippodrom, he died the following day).

Karaman was badly schooled and during schooling he was very seriously injured (cut the right hind leg to the bone), so he didn´t race.

Ryabova persuaded the breeders from Komsomol studfarm to use him in breeding - his offspring was very typey, quite good on racetrack, but very small, so Karaman was used very rarely.

After the one unsuccesful Gaigysyz race, he would be probably forgotten somewhere in studfarm. But, one Russian breeder, Mr.Potokin, payed for the stallion Sak and other group of horses from Komsomol, but they didn´t want to give him the horses which he chose. Finally he had to choose Gaigysyz and Djeikhun. As Potokin didn´t have so many mares, he offered later to use the stallions in Stavropol, where both of them gave excellent offspring.

Gaigysyz was graded elite in 2000 (elite of 2nd category), his gradings are 7 for pedigree, 8 for type, 7 for measures, 8 for conformation, 3 for performance, 9 for offspring.

Interesting could be for you information, that Gaigysyz has now new owner (Ms. Shabashova, also owner of Tokhtamysh), she froze the sperm of both stallions and it is offered for sale (for 2.000 euro).

To Gaigysyz offspring:

1151 Galabeg, dark buckskin, 1994, out of 1737 Geze, raced in Pjatigorsk 7 times, once was 3rd. He got the title of Russian Champion of 2 years old stallions and one year later the title of Russian Reserve Champion. He is used as a breeding stallion in Stavropol. Galabeg was graded elite in 1999 (elite of 3rd category), gradings 7,5 for pedigree, 8,2 for type, 6,3 for measures, 8 for conformation, 4 for performance, 6,5 for offspring.

The next is 1166 Gayaz, cremello, 1994, out of 2883 Pampa, he didn´t race, he got the Diploma of III.degree on exhibition in Moscow 1998. He is now used for breeding in Shael-Teke farm of L.Babaev and his offspring looks quite interesting (mare Namuz Shael got the title of Russian Junior Reserve Champion in 2004). He was graded elite in 2001 (elite of 2nd category), his gradings 8,5 for pedigree, 8,0 for type, 7,8 for measures, 8,0 for conformation, 7,0 for offspring.

In 1995 was born 1231 Mangyt, bay, out of 2394 Millet 6. He raced as a 2 and 3 years old in Piatigorsk 9 times, once he won, once was 2nd, once 3rd. As a 2 years old he got the Diploma of I degree on exhbition in Piatigorsk. One year later he got the title Russian Champion and in 2000 he got the title of World Reserve Champion in Moscow (the first placed another Gaigysyz son-Salyr). He was graded elite in 2000 (elite of 2nd category), gradings 8,0 for pedigree, 8,0 for type, 7,0 for measures, 8,0 for conformation, 5,0 for performance, 9,0 for offspring.

Among his offspring are e.g. Garayusup (Junior World Champion), Primula (Russian Junior Champion in 2002, Russian Reserve Champion in 2003, World Reserve Champion in 2003), Amira (Russian Junior Reserve Champion in 2002, Russian Champion in 2003), Pelen (Junior World Champion in 2002, World Champion in 2003), Fema (3rd place on Junior World Championship), Prima (Kazakh champion of 3 years and older mares) He is used as a breeding stallion in Stavropol.

In 1996 was born his full brother, bay Murgab. I can´t find about him more information, but he was sold to Kazakhstan where he is used as a breeding stallion. He was used some time in Stavropol, he gave very nice son there Yaramly (out of Yakshigush), placed 3rd among 2 years old colts on World Championship in 2003 and of course, two excellent stallions, grey Pekhimdar, out of Pampa, Russian Junior Champion in 2003 and buckskin Khanbegler out of Pudok Khan, the Russian Junior Champion in 2004. His daughter Arassa placed 2nd among 3 years and older mares on Azerbaidzhan championship and black Zakhida got the title of Russian Champion in 2004.

In 1996 was born another interesting stallion, golden buckskin Sagib, out of 2930 Sergi. He was twice World Reserve Champion in Moscow, once he was third there. Unfortunately he died last year.

In 1997 was born Salyr, out of 2445 Sania. He got the title of World Junior Champion in 1999 and World Champion in 2000 in Moscow. He was also quite good racehorse, winning in 2000 The Prize of Turkmenistan - 3 years old horses, 2000 m.

In 1998 was born buckskin Lamart (in Dagestan), out of 2782 Lira 17. He is used as a breeding stallion there.

Same year was born the golden buckskin Nuker, out of 2433 Prelest, who got the title of Junior World Champion and on this championship also won the "judging gaits" competition in category of young horses.

In 1999 was born buckskin stallion Mikhman, out of 2835 Mesele 2, who got the title of Junior World Reserve Champion and placed 3rd on Russian Championship in category of 2 years old colts.

In 1999 was born also stallion Razlet, buckskin, out of 2779 Lada 32, who became Azerbaidzhan champion of 3 years and older stallions in 2002.

Gyaurs got the title of Russian Junior Reserve Champion in 2002.

Gaisan, out of Soria, won the category of yearling colts on World Championship in 2002.

Among Gaigysyz daughters are:

2797 Margaritka (born 1994), full sistar of Mangyt and Murgab. She raced as a 2 and 3 years old 9 times, once was 3rd. She twice got the Diploma of the 2nd degree on exhibition in Piatigorsk (in 1996, 1997). She was graded elite in 1997 (8 for pedigree, 8,2 for type, 5,5 for measures, 8,0 for conformation, 4,0 for peformance).
