AKHAL-TEKES AT HEREFORDSHIRE EQUINE EXTRAVAGANZA

Three Akhal-Tekes were invited to BHS (Herefordshire) Equine
Extravaganza at Tack Farm, Ullinswick on Saturday October
25th. The event, organised by Herefordshire BHS Chairman Ali
Cann, involved representatives of all walks of equestrian
life, its aim being to show the breadth of activities you
can take part in with your horses.
The event included demonstrations of activities
ranging from Pony Club to Polo, from Western riding to Harness
Racing.
Under the title of Team Teke in Herefordshire,
Jacquie Bradbury with her stallion Aschir, Jamie Evans with
Xanadu and Roz Shepherd with
Tedzhen gave a costume display,
to a voiceover about the origins, history and present-day
uses and activities of the Akhal-Teke. This provided the occasion
for the launch of Team
Teke, a new Akhal-Teke group in the UK.

…came last weekend at Tack Farm Equestrian
Centre. They won the 2’6” class and, for good
measure, came second in the 2’9”.

Mac (Kyzyl Moonraker)
has been sold to Lizzie Nicholl. Lizzie lives on the Doward
and has known Mac from a yearling, having shown him alongside
Roz and Sam (Kyzyl Double
or Quits).
This is an absolutely wonderful home, with
the additional advantage that he won’t be going far
away. We wish Lizzie a great future with him.

Annette and Jackie Richardson’s Firyuza,
by Chatanz (Arab) out of Ainur,
has been scanned in foal to Darya Hannigan’s Akhal-Teke
stallion Dominik (Ayelsbury Vale Akhal-Tekes).
This represents the third generation
of Atamekan’s descendants.
